  COINS CEO Visits African Partners

COINS' CEO, Derek Leaver met with residents of the community at Kawama in northern Zambia recently and attended a series of meetings with Community Leaders.

The purpose was to take initial steps to establish a 'community development strategy' in which the COINS Foundation would help the community build a sustainable and thriving infrastructure. "We are planning to support with a 360 degree strategy which looks at all aspects of this community." said Derek Leaver. "Our strategy starts by including the most excluded and disenfranchised groups first." he said, "In that way we create the thinking and the practical methodologies which will benefit the entire community."

A crucial principle of COINS Foundation involvement is partnership working. We believe in doing things with people rather than 'to' or 'for' them. Support from the COINS Foundation is likely to take the form of a range of practical projects including micro-finance for wealth-creating schemes and health insurance, sanitation, and construction of buildings for education and training.
